US Navy Honors Elizabeth as Original Submarine Birthplace

On Wednesday, the United States Navy officially commemorated Elizabeth, New Jersey, as the original Submarine Birthplace at an event held at Veterans Memorial Park. Commissioner Bette Jane Kowalski was present, along with other elected officials from the city.
During the ceremony, members of the USS New Jersey presented a proclamation to the city in recognition of this historic honor. To further celebrate the occasion, a sculpture of a submarine, created by local residents and students, was unveiled at the park.
