Cranford Police Department Enhances Training with Simulator

Staff Report / cranfordlocal.org

Members of the Cranford Police Department recently participated in training using the VirTra use of force simulator at the John H. Stamler Police Academy. This advanced simulator is designed to prepare law enforcement officers for real-life incidents, enhancing safety for both officers and the communities they serve.

The training involved immersive scenarios that focus on real-world judgment and decision-making in critical situations. The simulator emphasizes the importance of human performance by integrating elements of cognitive neuroscience and human physiology into police training methodologies. This approach is intended to equip officers with the skills necessary to make informed decisions in tense and rapidly evolving environments.
